He has showcased his work across three continents, and his artworks are archived in various online collections, including on Rhizome ArtBase. Approach and works on display
La couleur de Montréal (2024)
In La Couleur de Montréal, the artist Vincent Charlebois colors the meteorological dynamics of the city, capturing the sky’s variations through the traffic camera network. Merging images and text, the work creates an urban metanarrative inspired by Ursula K. Le Guin’s The Carrier Bag Theory of Fiction. This installation, with its evolving nature, transforms the sky into a generative story.
This work by Vincent Charlebois reveals the fluctuating nuances of our urban environment, proposing a temporality beyond human perception. This project focuses on technological tools, envisioned here as potential interfaces with nature, and thus questions our perception of media space as well as its possible interactions with atmospheric conditions.
FIFA takes place from March 14 to 24, 2024.
